Bucky Awards

The Bucky Awards highlight outstanding student leaders, student organizations, and advisors who have made a substantial impact at Santa Clara University. A total of nine awards are open to recognize a variety of substantial campus impacts.

    Chartered Student Organization of the Year
    2014 Awardee: Into the Wild

    Recognizes one of the 9 Chartered Student Organizations (CSOs) for outstanding work at SCU.

    Registered Student Organization of the Year
    2014 Awardee: Society of Women Engineers (SWE)

    Recognizes one of the 181 Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) for excellent work at SCU.

    Event of the Year
    2014 Awardee: Vagina Monologues

    Highlights an exceptional event that was planned and hosted by a student organization.

    Collaborative Event of the Year
    2014 Awardee: Global Village

    Highlights an outstanding event that was developed and sponsored by two or more student organizations.

    Bronco of the Year - 2 award recipients
    2014 Awardees: Erica Valle & Carlos Martinez

    Traditionally one male and female, this award recognizes SCU students for unique contributions to campus.

    New Bucky of the Year
    2014 Awardee: Kassamira Carter-Howard

    Recognizes a freshman student for significant contributions to the SCU community.

    Advisor of the Year
    2014 Awardee: Tedd Vanadilok

    Acknowledges the support and encouragement of an advisor that did superb work with a student organization.

    I MUA Award
    2014 Awardee: Students for a Just Coalition

    Meaning "keep going" or "move forward" in Hawaiian, this award recognizes a student or student organization that has demonstrated progressive leadership on campus by challenging the status quo, pushing the borders of our comfort zones, and living the values of diversity and inclusion at SCU.

    Residence Hall Community of the Year
    2014 Awardee: Modern Perspectives RLC (Dunne Hall)

    Awarded to the residence hall community that exhibits student development, fosters community, and connects programming and opportunities in meaningful ways.
