New Student Programs oversees all programs and services for freshmen, transfer students, commuter students, parents, and families. Major programs include Orientation, Welcome Weekend, and Family Weekend.

  • icon2014 Orientation Leader Description

    The primary role of an Orientation Leader (OL) is to provide guidance and facilitate Summer Orientation activities. The OL position requires a great deal of dedication and hard work. OLs will be required to attend an extensive training program to get them ready for orientation in July. It is mandatory for OLs to attend all training activities and to work orientations in July and September. OLs will also be required to work Welcome Weekend in September. All employment and training dates are listed below.

    * Spring training is required. If selected to be an OL, please plan your spring class schedule accordingly.

    • Employment: April 2-July 31, September 15-21
    • Spring Training: Wednesdays during Spring Quarter, 4:00pm-6:00pm *
    • Summer Training: June 16-27
    • Orientation, Sessions 1-6: July 6-25
    • Fall Training: September 15-16
    • Orientation, Session 7: September 17-18
    • Transfer Orientation: September 19
    • Welcome Weekend: September 20-21
