The Fireside Chats is a weekly discussion group for students interested in discussion fundamental normative questions relating to government and public policy. The group meets every Wednesday evening from 6:00pm - 8:00pm** (Subject to Change) in room 246 of the Arts & Sciences Building. The name was chosen by participating students and is taken from the term used by the press for Franklin Roosevelt's informal radio addresses to the American people during the Great Depression.

The Tau Beta Pi Association (commonly Tau Beta Pi) is the oldest engineering honor society in the United States and the second oldest collegiate honor society in America. It honors engineering students who have shown a history of academic achievement as well as a commitment to personal and professional integrity.
