The HOME exhibition consists of a series of individual artworks or bodies of work which all address the same issue: what is the nature of home? Is it a physical structure, a dwelling place, a refuge, or a place of origin?

This exhibition consists of a photographic essay of 32 works in color, which document the living situations of some of the homeless people living in the Los Angeles region. In the best tradition of documentary photography, Anthony set out to record the hidden dwelling places of this population.

"The hardest pictures I've ever made were the homeless pictures. I wasn't in a war zone, but it is as if I were. It's hard to reconcile the larger segment of society, which is so ordinary, and which would just like the homeless to disappear, with the greatness of the country. We're reminded that however 'great' this country is, the homeless stand for the failure to face the future."

-Anthony Hernandez
