A Life Reclaimed:
The Journey of Recent Exonoree Alan Crotzer
Photographs by Vance Jacobs

May 2 - July 1, 2006

In this exhibition, San Francisco-based photographer Vance Jacobs provides us with an in-depth and up-close look at the story of one recent exoneree Alan Crotzer, a Florida man who spent almost 25 years in prison for crimes he did not commit. Jacobs’ dramatic images showcase Crotzer’s struggles as he attempts to reclaim a normal life after more than two decades in prison.

Vance Jacobs’ photographs appear regularly in publications and exhibitions in the U.S. and abroad. His clients include: The New York Times, Hewlett-Packard, Backpacker Magazine, USA Today, Johnson & Johnson, and The Ford Foundation, among others. Vance’s work has been honored in both the Pictures of the Year (POY) photography competition and The Communication Arts Photography Annual.
