The Collections Committee acts as an advisory board to Santa Clara University by encouraging and pursuing gifts and purchases that correspond to the collecting goals of the de Saisset Museum. They also assist by overseeing deaccessioning procedures. Each object or work of art that is under consideration for acquisition, accession, or deaccession in the de Saisset's permanent collection is evaluated and voted upon by the Collections Committee.
The Collections Commitee includes the Museum Director, Curator, Collections Manager, and selected members from the University and the community-at-large. Committee members are selected by invitation. They meet two to three times per year to discuss and vote on proposed accessions and deaccessions.
