Mrs. Anita Goble, mother of Dr. Cheryl McElvain, a lecturer in the Department of Education, gave the School the largest gift they have ever received. Mrs. Anita Goble, mother of Dr. Cheryl McElvain, a lecturer in the Department of Education, gave the School a $100,000 gift on December 21, 2006--the largest we have ever received. Mrs. Goble had been an elementary school teacher for 16 years in the Cambrian Schools. She wanted to do something for our School to support education. Her gift will be held in an endowed account for a special project for our School. Dean Les Goodchild and Associate Dean Carol Giancarlo introduced Anita and Cheryl to President Locatelli, Associate Provost Don Dodson, and Assistant Vice President Nancy Calderon. At the meeting Anita gave the gift to Fr. Locatelli who was pleased to see significant donation to the School.

Dr. Jerry Shapiro and Dr. Lucy Ramos-Sanchez coordinate a scholarship for the Molina Healthcare Corporation for $25,000.

Five professors and two master's students in the Departments of Counseling Psychology and Education authored four chapters for the major three volume work, Mental Disorders for the New Millennium (Praeger, 2006)

On November 15, 2006, The Mutual of America Foundation presented Santa Clara University's School of Education, Counseling Psychology, and Pastoral Minsitires for Professor Ruth Cook's work, The Morgan Center, and the San Jose Unified School District with its honorable mention award in its National Community Partnership Award.

A $20,000 donation was recieved from an anonymous recent graduate for material, supplies and scholarship for children to participate in reading tutorials.

Jerry Shapiro recevied the Award for Sustained Scholarship at the Faculty recognition dinner.
