Greetings from the Chair To prospective students, current students, alumni, friends, and the casual web browser, Welcome!! For nearly 50 years, the Department of Counseling Psychology has been a vital center of education and training for mental health care professionals not only in Silicon Valley but across the world! Our graduate students come from the Bay Area, across the United States, as well as 16 different countries. We are a community of clinicians and scholars who respect the unique qualities, backgrounds, experiences, and traditions of our students. We value education that is clinically rigorous, academically stimulating, conducted in an environment that is interpersonally supportive and challenging. We form competent, compassionate, and conscientious clinicians and leaders to change individuals and communities.
