At the Center for Professional Development at Santa Clara University we have taken great pride in providing classes that are both desirable and useful. We consistently ask our participants and the community what classes would be of the greatest service. You have told us what you wanted. We listened and our programs last fall were well attended and had superior evaluations.

We continue our high contact, hands-on, clinically-relevant courses with a marvelous array of 2012 workshops. We have sought out and hired a superb faculty who are primed for Winter and Spring classes. We are continuing our popular practice of including a continental breakfast and a lunch in our morning and all day workshops at no extra cost.

You will see on our schedule classes that fulfill the LPCC/MFT aging requirement, another meets criteria for our Advanced Psychotherapy Theory certificate program. We have new and returning faculty conducting our workshops: each an expert in her or his field. Internationally renowned experts like Drs. Stephanie Brown, Peter Pearson and Thomas Plante are all doing workshops in new specialties. For the first time in many years, we are offering a workshop on postnatal issues and another on sandplay therapy. Advanced theory classes are on CBT and EFT. In addition, we have a favorite ethics workshop that meets all requirements for license renewal.

Glance through our catalogue and please come and join us for a class, or several. If you don’t see a class you’d like to have or a professional you’d like to have present, please let us know. I will be at many courses myself this term, fulfilling my licensing and development needs and will look forward to seeing you.

Our accredited continuing education programs focus on serving the Continuing Education (CE) needs of psychologists, marriage and family therapists, social workers, counselors, nurses, other mental health professionals, and educators.

Our dynamic CEU courses are designed to maximize participant-leader contact in interactive, experiential formats. In our personal on-site classes for professionals, we are committed to providing advanced training with greater depth than is available in online formats. Although we offer CEU’s for all of our classes, our goal is to offer significant professional education experiences that also meet licensure requirements.
