Description
Often referred to “a waking dream,” sandplay is a non-verbal form of therapy that is often a healing experience for both children and adults.
In this modality, the individual uses sand, water and miniature objects to create a physical manifestation of the inner, psychic world. “Sandplay” is the Jungian approach to using the sand in therapy.
This interactive, hands-on workshop will present basic Jungian concepts and the theory of sandplay, originated by renowned Swiss therapist Dora Kalff. The course will cover introducing sandplay with child and adult clients, the significance of the first tray and the sandplay journey in a “free and protected space.” Slides of sandtrays done by both children and adults will illustrate the process. The participant will experience how the selection of figures can be a healing practice.
