    Candidates participate in a year long clinical practice teaching placement at a culturally and linguistically diverse public school while earning a Master of Arts in Teaching degree and a California teaching credential.  This engaging and rigorous program unites theory and practice with an emphasis on maximizing learning for every student, every day.

    The Department of Education offers Master of Arts degrees in Educational Administration and Interdisciplinary Education.
  • iconCA Educator Credentials

    The Department of Education offers credential programs accredited by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing in preliminary and clear administrative services, preliminary multiple and single subject teaching and general education clear (for Catholic school teachers only).
  • iconCertificates

    The department offers the following certificates:  alternative and correctional education, early childhood special education, gifted education and reading.
  • iconTeacher Performance Assessment

    A mandated assessment project to be completed by all credential students.
  • iconRobert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program

    Science, mathematics, and engineering majors who are interested in becoming science or mathematics teachers can apply on line for a $28,000 scholarship.
