Preliminary Level Single Subject Requirements Checklist
  • Certificate of Clearance OR copy of substitute permit
  • BA Degree or verified BA equivalency (Degree confer date must be posted on transcript)
  • CBEST verification
  • US Constitution
  • Subject Matter competence verification: Content Area Program wavier (100 % completion required) OR California Subject Examinations for Teachers (CSET) exam in appropriate subject area
  • Health Class Proof of Attendance Must include nutrition, the physiological and sociological effects of abuse of alcohol, narcotics, and drugs, and the use of tobacco
  • CPR Certification (copy of front and back of card, signature required) Must include infant, child and adult skills

Single Subject Internship Requirements

  • Certificate of clearance OR copy of substitute permit
  • BA Degree or verified BA equivalency (Degree confer date must be posted on transcript)
  • CBEST verification
  • US Constitution
  • Subject Matter competence verification: Content Area program waiver letter (100% completion required) OR California Subject Examination for Teachers (CSET) exam in appropriate subject area
  • District letter indicating beginning date of internship which includes position, school district and county (copy of contract is acceptable)
