Admissions
Admission to the Department of Education graduate programs is open to students who:
- hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
- have demonstrated superior scholastic aptitude.
- have given evidence of good citizenship and moral character.
A student who has been disqualified in any college or school of Santa Clara University is ineligible for admission to these programs.
Students may apply for degree status, which refers to students admitted by letter into a degree, credential, certificate, or pre-license program offered by the school.
All applicants should have a cumulative 3.0 grade point average.
Admissions Application Deadlines:
Fall Quarter: File by June 15th
Winter Quarter: File by October 15th
Spring Quarter: File by January 31st
Summer Quarter: File by April 15th
Admission Requirements:
- Application fee: $50 (payable through on line application)

- Official transcripts (two copies of official transcripts from all college-level institutions, including junior colleges) attended with the degrees granted and posted.
- Three letters of recommendation (the appropriate form is available through the online application under the link "Admissions Requirements"; your references may also be submitted on official letterhead by your recommenders).
- If you are a teacher education applicant, your letters should be as follows: one letter from an academic advisor or faculty member; two letters from people who can comment on your ability to work with youth.
- Essay/statement of purpose (completed through online application)

- Please discuss fully your reasons for entering the profession of teaching or your reasons for pursuing a Masters degree.
* Minimum TOEFL scores (required of all international students and non-native speakers of English: 600 on the paper test or 100 on the internet-based test.
