Lisa S. Goldstein, Ph.D.

Dr. Lisa S. Goldstein, a former Santa Clara county primary grade teacher, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from Yale University, a Master’s degree in Education of the Gifted from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Ph. D. in Curriculum and Teacher Education from Stanford University. After twelve years on the faculty of the University of Texas at Austin—where she was honored with the 2004 Dean's Distinguished Teaching Award and the 2005 Libba Shatto Massey Award for Excellence in Teacher Education—Lisa joined the SCU Education department in fall 2008. 

A nationally recognized expert on teachers’ curricular and instructional decision-making, Lisa has published 2 books and over 30 journal articles on teaching and teacher education, particularly in relation to early childhood and elementary education. Lisa teaches courses related to curriculum, teaching, and elementary classroom practices in SCU’s preliminary multiple and single subject teaching credential programs and in the Master of Arts program in Interdisciplinary Education.
