Patricia DeMarlo, a native Californian, was born in San Francisco, Ca and moved to Silicon Valley at the age of five. She attended public elementary and Catholic Middle School and High School. After graduating from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Psychology and English, Pat became and elementary school teacher in the Cupertino Union School District. During her 37 year career in Cupertino, Ms. DeMarlo taught grades 3-6 for 24 years and earned her Masters in Administrative Education from Santa Clara University. After completing her masters Ms DeMarlo was appointed an elementary principal of a school with several special education programs, an alternative school and a newcomer, English Immersion Program. Pat completed her career in the District Office as the Director of Human Resources and finally as the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. Pat served on several educational and community task forces, committees and boards.
In 1999 Ms DeMarlo joined the faculty of Santa Clara University as the Director of the Administrative Education Masters and Credentials Program. Familiar with the program, Pat was able to continue directing the program, advising students and contributing to the Education Department in a seemless manner. Her extensive experience in hiring new teachers, working with new teachers, networking with the Silicon Valley educational community and practical administrative experience has been an asset to our program.
