Josephine Ishou

Manager of Administrative and Graduate Services Office
Josephine Ishou is the Manager, Administrative and Graduate Services Office for the School of Education and Counseling Psychology.

Josephine was born and raised in an Assyrian family in Iran. After obtaining her high school diploma, she worked for companies such as General Motors and General Electric.

After the Iranian revolution, she moved to Athens, Greece where she established a company and spent six years manufacturing and marketing Greek art objects.

In 1986, she arrived in the United States, which she now calls home. Since her arrival, she has lived in Silicon Valley and held jobs in administration, mostly in the non-profit sector.  Her last position was at Child Advocates of Silicon Valley where she held the position of Administration and Finance Director for the past ten years.

She also volunteered and became Advocate for three children who were dependants of the court as a result of abuse and neglect. Josephine also served on various Boards of non-profit organizations in Silicon Valley. She currently volunteers at the Santa Clara City Library where she manages the bookstore for the library foundation on weekends.

Josephine holds a B.A. from San Jose State University in clinical and counseling psychology.

Josephine’s favorite hobbies include listening to music, reading, traveling, going on long walks with her dog, and spending time with friends.
