Mission Matters

Dean’s Message

It’s a great pleasure to launch Mission Matters, the alumni newsletter of the School of Education, Counseling Psychology and Pastoral Ministries. The Mission Matters moniker  emerged from my experiences as Interim Dean this year.  In that role I have seen that,   above all else, our School is one where mission matters--where a commitment to the common good and to a life with purpose is so pervasive that we sometimes barely stop to take note of it.   Our goal with Mission Matters is to stop for a moment and take note of what is happening at your very happening alma mater, and to invite you to join us for some new adventures in learning back on the Mission Campus.

This first issue of Mission Matters reports good news on many fronts--major donations to the School, including the largest in School history; important projects in our community and beyond;  professional activities of our distinguished faculty;  and invitations for you to join us for  receptions before or after special University events. We hope you enjoy being back in touch this way, and look forward to actually seeing you in person soon!
