Linux Systems Programmer Intern

Hours Per Week: 20-28, Depending on Availability
Pay Rate: $11.10 Per Hour
Location: Santa Clara, CA (Intel Campus)
Internship Description The BEC (Business Education Compact) is a non-profit organization that makes learning real through hands-on, innovative learning experiences for students. The BEC's Linux Systems Programmer Intern will work onsite with a team at Intel's Santa Clara, CA campus. The intern will assist with Unix/Linux System administration. This includes Linux computer installation, troubleshooting, repair, and removal. The intern will also script programs to automate repetitive tasks, program and deploy new infrastructure applications, and monitor the health of the computing environment.
The successful candidate will have Unix/Linux experience, computer programming credits, and a customer service mentality. Candidates with Perl, PHP, and customer service skills are preferred. The intern will be working in an office environment with some lab work. The intern should have the ability to lift and repair computer hardware.
This internship is open to current undergraduate students who take at least 6 credits per term during the traditional school year (fall-spring).
