With no space available on campus to house SCU's entry in the 2013 U.S. Department of Energy's Solar Decathlon, we need to find a good home for our great home. This high-performing, net zero, solar powered home will be put up for bid on eBay soon, but we are giving Broncos the first chance at owning this stunner.

Just a glimpse of Radiant House's huge deck

Radiant House is a 1,050 sq. ft. fully solar powered home. Beautiful and sustainable bamboo Tiger Deck expands the living space an extra 1,200 sq. ft. (~70' x 90' footprint).

 

Bamboo construction

This net-zero energy home features solar thermal and solar electric technologies, cutting-edge bamboo construction methods, sprinkler/fire suppression system, and is ADA compatible.

 

Building Permit

Radiant House meets all building codes and has been through the permit process in Santa Clara and Irvine, California. Sale is "as is," just bid, buy, and take it away!

 

Washer and dryer

All appliances are high efficiency and are included in the sale: washer, dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator, television, sound system. Furniture is available for sale at an extra cost.

 

Radiant House Bathroom

Radiant House, with its grid-tied electrical system is built to fulfill all energy requirements for the home and its occupants and is ready to connect to local utilities for water and sewer.

Bid

Minimum bid: $250,000. Buyer is responsible for all transportation (Radiant House is ready to be transported in modules) and assembly costs.
