Frugal Innovation Lab

The Frugal Innovation Lab exists within Bannan Engineering Labs building, and is a space in which student teams work collaboratively on projects addressing design challenges in sectors on the forefront of global innovation to benefit society. Students working in the lab research, design, and prototype solutions to problems provided by faculty research projects, SoE and CSTS partners’ requests, and Senior Design projects that address the needs of underserved communities worldwide. The space also houses the Maker Lab and hosts a handful of senior design projects each year including several of those funded by the Roelandts Fellowship program. Located at the center of campus, this space is a working showcase of the process, and products of the partnership between social entrepreneurs and the Center.
