Academic Calendar 2008-09

Graduate courses are offered throughout the year, including the summer quarter.  All students are responsible for being aware of the various dates each quarter which may affect them academically and financially. 

Fall Quarter 2008


August 19-22 Monday-Friday Initial Fall registration period (appt. required in Ecampus for registration)
August 23-September 14 Saturday-Sunday Open registration and Add/Drop period
September 12  Friday  Last day to petition for graduate degrees to be conferred in December 2008. 
September 15 Monday Drop/Swap period begins; $50 fee per course
September 15 Monday Late registration period begins; $100 fee if no previous enrollment
September 21 Sunday Fall Tuition and fee payment due 
September 22 Monday Classes begin
September 24 Wednesday New Student Orientation
September 28 Sunday Last day to add or swap classes, or withdraw from classes with a 100% refund (Clear any registration holds by 5pm, Friday 9/22)
October 5 Sunday Last day to withdraw classes with a 50% refund (Clearing any registration holds before due date is important.)
October 12 Sunday Last day to withdraw classes with a 25% refund and not receive a "W" grade. (Clear any registration holds by 5pm, Friday 10/6)
October 20-24 Monday-Friday Initial Winter registration period (appt. required in Ecampus for registration)
December 5 Friday Last day to withdraw from classes; classes end
December 8-12  Monday-Friday  Fall quarter final exams 
December 17  Wednesday  Fall quarter grades due 
December 19 Friday Last day to petition for graduate degrees to be conferred in March 2008.

Winter Quarter 2009


October 20-24 Monday-Friday Initial Winter registration period (appt. required in Ecampus for registration)
October 25-December 28 Saturday-Sunday Open registration and Add/Drop period
December 21 Sunday Tuition and fee payment due
December 29 Monday Drop/Swap period begins; $50 fee per course; late registration begins; $100 late fee if no previous enrollment.
January 5 Monday Classes begin
January 7 Wednesday New Student Orientation
January 11 Sunday Last day to add or swap classes, or withdraw from classes with a 100% refund (Clear any registration holds by 5pm, Friday)
January 18 Sunday Last day to withdraw classes with a 50% refund (Clear any registration holds by 5pm, Friday)
January 19  Monday  Martin Luther King Day holiday; administrative holiday - consult instructor. 
January 23 Friday Last day to submit incomplete fall quarter 2008 work to faculty.
January 25 Sunday Last day to withdraw classes with a 25% refund and not receive a "W" grade. (Clear any registration holds by 5pm)
February 2-6 Monday-Friday Initial Spring registration period (appt. required for registration in Ecampus system) 
March 13 Friday Last day to petition for graduate degrees to be conferred in June 2009
March 13 Friday Last day to withdraw from classes; classes end
March 16-20  Monday-Friday Winter quarter final exams. 
March 25 Wednesday Winter quarter grades due

April 10  Friday  Good Friday-administrative holiday; consult instructor

April 17 Friday Last day to submit incomplete work to faculty for winter 2008.
April 19 Sunday Last day to withdraw classes with a 25% refund and not receive a "W" grade. (Clear any registration holds by 5pm, Friday)
April 20-24  Monday-Friday Summer registration period for current students for all 3 summer sessions. Prospective students may still apply according to deadlines.
May 25  Monday  Memorial Day; academic and administrative holiday.

Summer Quarter 2009

**Summer sessions tuition refund policy:

For 100% tuition refund: Students must drop their course(s) online via ecampus by the end of the day (no later than 11:59 p.m.) of the second class meeting.

For 50% tuition refund: Students must drop their course(s) online via ecampus by the end of the day (no later than 11:59 p.m.) of the third class meeting.

There will be no further refunds after the day of the third class meeting.
