Tuition and Fees

Tuition is unit-based. Each unit is equal to one hour of classroom instruction. We charge a fixed amount for each unit you take. Full-time study for international students means 8 units or more each academic quarter except summer.

We generally do not offer any research assistantships to master degree students, as this is a professional program, such as an MBA, rather than a research program. Most of our students pay their tuition either through company tuition reimbursement plan or self support.

For PhD students, there are some very limited teaching and research assistantships available in the departments. Apply for admission to the Program first. Once you are accepted, you will be assigned a faculty advisor. Contact your faculty advisor about RA/TA opportunities after your acceptance into the Program.

2008-09 Academic Year

Name Amount
Tuition, per unit* $689       ($669 for summer 2008)
Engineering Course Fee, per quarter $129

*Students, degree and non-degree, such as co-op and auditing, all pay the same tuition rate and are subject to the same registration deadlines and tuition payment guidelines. Bills are run on the first of each month and are due on the 21st of each month.

Other fees students should work hard to avoid:
When we talk about optional fees, it all comes down to good discipline and attention to deadlines.  The optional fees that you should work hard to avoid are:

  • late registration fee (assessment begins on Monday, one week prior to the beginning of each quarter) - $75
  • late payment fee - $75
  • course drop/swap fee (assessment begins on Monday, one week prior to the beginning of each quarter) - $30
  • return check fee - $25

Optional Fees:

The optional fees are situation-based and often upon request.
  • Parking Permit, per year - $225. Alternatively, we encourage our students to take the Caltrain that stops across the street.
  • Official Transcripts are now provided free of charge. Please note that your transcript will not be produced if you have a financial hold on your academic record. Requests made by phone or email will not be accepted.

Request a transcript electronically:

Students who have been in attendance at SCU at any time since fall term 2002 can request a transcript by logging into Ecampus. Please read the Electronic Transcript Request Instructions.

Written transcript requests from students who have access to eCampus will only be accepted if a form is required to be attached to the transcript. Any other written requests will be returned.
