The program of studies for the mechanical design option must include the following courses:

  • MECH 275 Design for Competitiveness
  • MECH 285 Computer-Aided Design of Mechanisms
  • MECH 325 and 326 Computational Geometry for Computer-Aided Design and Manufacture I and II
  • MECH 415 Optimization in Mechanical Design

Mechanical Design with an Emphasis in Automotive Design (Hight, Shoup)

The program of studies for the mechanical design option must include the following courses:

  • EMGT 381 System Conceptual Design
  • EMGT 382 System Design, Test, Integration and Evaluation
  • MECH 285 Computer-Aided Design of Mechanisms
  • MECH 415 Optimization in Mechanical Engineering
  • MECH 420 Advances in Vehicle Technologies
