Encouraging the Next Generation of Women EngineersTuesday, Mar. 5, 2013Although 55 percent of college undergraduates are women, only about 20 percent of all engineering students in the United States are women. With numbers like that, organizations such as theSociety of Women Engineers (SWE) become all the more important, not just for providing opportunities for personal and professional enrichment for undergraduate students, but also for reaching out to local high school girls interested in the STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).
