Grants

Jeanette Leach, assistant dean for admissions and diversity services, received $100,000 from the Law School Admission Council to support the Prelaw Undergraduate Scholars (PLUS) 2004 program, held last summer. The PLUS program offers undergraduate students an opportunity to learn more about the legal profession in an environment that is conducive to the study of law. This award provides a second year of program funding. Law School Admissions Council funding for the PLUS Program now totals $200,000.

Professor Cynthia Mertens received a one-year award from the State Bar of California that provides $28,149 to support the Katharine and George Alexander Community Law Center. This award is funded by the Equal Access Fund program at the State Bar. This is the fourth year that the State Bar has provided the ESJCLC with funding through the Equal Access Fund.
