  • New Summer Pre-Law Program Gives Undergrads Insight Into Law School
    Twenty-two undergraduate students got a taste of law school-late night studying, lots of reading, and moot court-when they attended the Prelaw Undergraduate Scholars Program (PLUS) at the School of Law over the summer.

  • Record Number of Applications for Class of 2006
    The 2003 class of law students was chosen from the largest number of applications ever received by the School of Law.

  • "The Future of Pharmaceuticals" Conference
    The High Tech Law Institute and the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics co-sponsored its third annual conference examining the current legal and ethical issues relating to biotechnologies in October 2003.

  • Study Abroad Goes Down Under
    The latest international venue for the School of Law's Summer Abroad program is Sydney, Australia, where students will study at the University of Technology Sydney.

  • Classroom Upgrade
    Over the summer, the Bannan Hall law classrooms and the moot court room were upgraded with new podiums and electronics.

  • 11th Annual Death Penalty College
    One of the key summer events at the School of Law is the Death Penalty College, which held its 11th session last August.

  • Maurer Named Attorney of the Year
    Scott Maurer '95, a supervising attorney at the SCU's East San Jose Community Law Center (ESJCLC), was recently named clinical/legal services attorney of the year by the National Association of Consumer Advocates for his accomplishments in helping curb abusive and predatory business practices.

  • Community, Commitment, and Courage 2003
    A law school graduate who started a law center for poor residents in Watsonville was among the honorees at the sixth annual Community, Commitment, and Courage dinner held on October 24, 2003.

  • The Model of the Teacher/Scholar at the School of Law
    Santa Clara School of Law faculty members have earned national recognition for service to several communities and their commitment to public interest legal projects and to advancing notions of social justice in those communities.

  • Professor Howard Anawalt Retires After 35 Years
    Though Howard Anawalt taught many subjects during his 35 years at SCU, he was best known for his work with the school's high technology program.
