Effective mentoring dictates that occasionally we revisit those early days-when we were law students. I can vividly remember composing my personal statement to be included in my application to law school. I knew without a doubt that I wanted to be part of Santa Clara University School of Law and focused all my attention on that goal. Now, some twenty years later, I am proud to see myself as an integral part of that Santa Clara "family" not only by graduating, but by teaching Legal Analysis Research and Writing at the law school and serving my third term as president of the Law Alumni Board.

The law school and law students will always benefit from continued involvement, encouragement, and support from alumni. The Law Alumni Association has developed and sponsored several events and activities with the specific goal of reaching out to our alumni and bringing them back to our School of Law family. Some of these events include the Student/Alumni Dinner Program, held each fall semester, the Special Achievement Award Dinner scheduled for May 21, Law Career Day slated for February 7, and the Justice Panelli Golf Classic planned for next Sept. 10, 2004.

Santa Clara University School of Law and the Alumni Board are taking active steps not only to bring alumni back to school, but to recognize alumni for their accomplishments and achievements, foster ties between law students and alumni, and raise necessary scholarship funds for current law students.
