Law BriefsJim Hammer, Former Law Professor, Discusses Peterson and Dog Mauling Cases
Legal analyst Jim Hammer spoke about the Scott Peterson case and other legal issues to a large crowd of students and faculty at the School of Law on Jan. 26. A former professor at the School of Law, Hammer co-founded the East San Jose Community Law Center (now known as the Katharine and George Alexander Community Law Center). As a San Francisco assistant district attorney, Hammer led the district attorney’s homicide unit for three years. Hammer discussed the Scott Peterson case and his recent media coverage of it. He also recounted his experience of successfully prosecuting the Diane Whipple/Sharon Smith dog mauling case in San Francisco, and shared how being gay has had an influence on his career. The event was sponsored by the Bisexual Gay Lesbian Advocates (BGLAd) at the School of Law. |
