  • Kathy Almazol

      Superintendent, Catholic Schools in the Diocese of San Jose

    Kathy Almazol is the Superintendent of the elementary and secondary schools in the Diocese of San Jose. She has been an administrator in the elementary schools for the past twenty years. Currently there are 16,400 students in the Catholic school system. Kathy has been a leader in developing School Advisory Councils in the school system. She continues to advise principals and parent groups on the importance of governance in the schools. Read the full profile »

During John’s four years at Williams-Sonoma, revenues increased from $1.1 billion in 1998 to $2.3 billion in 2002.

    Prior to retiring on October 31, 2009, Art Courville was the Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary for Symantec Corporation, a global leader in providing security, storage and systems management software for consumers and businesses. His career with Symantec spanned more than 15 years, starting in 1993 as the third attorney in Symantec's legal department, including a period as the director of product management for Symantec's Internet Tools business unit, and continuing through his appointment as vice president and general counsel in 1999.     Michael E. Fox Sr. was born in Chicago in 1936. He completed his education in the Midwest, both at Notre Dame University and the Siebel Institute of Technology, where he obtained a postgraduate degree in Brewing Science and Technology. In 1959, he married Mary Ellen Croke and they moved to San Francisco where they began their family of six children. In 1965, the Foxes founded M.E.     Richard Levy has been chairman of the Varian Medical Systems Board of Directors since 2002.  Varian Medical Systems is a $2.5B leading provider of cancer   therapy systems, stereotactic radiosurgery products and x-ray tubes.  He was CEO of the company from 1999-2006.  Levy holds a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth college and a doctorate in nuclear chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley. She previously served as a Judge on the Municipal Court from 1984 to 1998 and also as a Court Commissioner from 1983 to 1984. She received a Juris Doctor Degree from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1976 and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics in 1973 from Santa Clara University after having transferred from Xavier University in New Orleans in 1971. A. C. "Mike" Markkula, Jr. has been associated with Santa Clara University in various capacities since 1984, and was Chairman of the Board of Trustees from 2003-2009. Mr. Markkula and his wife Linda, provided initial funding for the Center for Applied Ethics and served as Chairman of the Board of Advisors and a member of the steering committee.
