  • Kathy Almazol

      Superintendent, Catholic Schools in the Diocese of San Jose

    Kathy Almazol is the Superintendent of the elementary and secondary schools in the Diocese of San Jose. She has been an administrator in the elementary schools for the past twenty years. Currently there are 16,400 students in the Catholic school system. Kathy has been a leader in developing School Advisory Councils in the school system. She continues to advise principals and parent groups on the importance of governance in the schools. Read the full profile »

    Kristi Bowers is a community volunteer, Director of Sales Marketing for Kings Mountain Vineyard, and nonprofit board member. Kristi has served on the Advisory Board since 1999 and on its executive committee since 2007.

    She is a Trustee of Santa Clara University and also currently serves on the boards of directors of the Markkula Foundation and of The BASIC Fund. The BASIC Fund (Bay Area Scholarships for Inner-City Children) is a privately funded program whose mission is to broaden the educational opportunities for inner-city children by helping low-income families afford the cost of tuition at private schools in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Markkula Foundation primarily supports education and human services.

    After receiving her B.S. in Marketing (1990) and her MBA (1997) from Santa Clara University, she was Manager of European Sales at Global Village Communication, and Market Intelligence Officer at Apple Computer Europe.

    Mr. Bronson was a Senior Vice President and head of Human Resources for Williams-Sonoma, Inc., where he was responsible for managing the company’s rapidly growing human resource needs, including staffing, recruitment, compensation and benefits, and management development and training. During John’s four years at Williams-Sonoma, revenues increased from $1.1 billion in 1998 to $2.3 billion in 2002.

    Prior to retiring on October 31, 2009, Art Courville was the Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary for Symantec Corporation, a global leader in providing security, storage and systems management software for consumers and businesses. His career with Symantec spanned more than 15 years, starting in 1993 as the third attorney in Symantec's legal department, including a period as the director of product management for Symantec's Internet Tools business unit, and continuing through his appointment as vice president and general counsel in 1999.     Teresa Elder has led businesses with up to $4B revenue in the wireless and cable industries in the US and Europe. She has experience on commercial and non-profit boards. Teresa advises businesses in strategy, scaling and operations. She is the former CEO of Vodafone Ireland, making her the first female CEO of any Vodafone business globally. At Vodafone, she led a $2B business and launched the country’s first mobile broadband network. Teresa was the founding president of Clearwire Wholesale.     Christopher Foster is a labor attorney at DLA Piper in San Francisco, where he represents employers in a variety of industries, including healthcare, solid waste,media, and education. Christopher negotiates collective bargaining agreements, advises regarding strike management, and handles unfair labor practice claims before the National Labor Relations Board. Additionally, Christopher advises and defends employers in wrongful termination, commission disputes, and discrimination suits in federal and state courts and before arbitrators. Formerly with Arnold & Porter, Christopher graduated from Santa Clara University with a B.S. in economics and completed a Hackworth Fellowship on the ethical issues raised by emerging technologies. In addition to receiving a full scholarship to study economics and philosophy at Oxford University from the Santa Clara University Honors Program, Christopher is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (“Boalt Hall”), where he was Senior Articles Editor for the Berkeley Journal of Employment and Labor Law.

    Michael E. Fox Sr. was born in Chicago in 1936. He completed his education in the Midwest, both at Notre Dame University and the Siebel Institute of Technology, where he obtained a postgraduate degree in Brewing Science and Technology. In 1959, he married Mary Ellen Croke and they moved to San Francisco where they began their family of six children. In 1965, the Foxes founded M.E.
