At the CenterFrom the Achievement Gap to the Education DebtTuesday, Feb. 28, 2012The achievement gap between white students and other groups on standardized tests is one of the most talked about issues in education. In a presentation March 7, 5 p.m., in the SCU Locatelli Center, Gloria Ladson-Billings, chair of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at University of Wisconsin-Madison, focuses instead on the “education debt,” highlighting the social, political, and economic factors that disproportionately affect children of color. Ladson-Billings talk is free, but reservations are appreciated.
