Ethics at Noon Series


The Iraq War, wrongful convictions, and the right to wear or not to wear head scarves are among the topics for the 2007-08 Ethics at Noon series. These lunch-hour programs provide a forum for SCU faculty members and other experts to explore ethical issues in many fields. All programs are free and open to the public.

Professor Kristin Heyer, SCU Religious Studies; Professor Cynthia Mertens, SCU School of Law; and Professor Laura Nichols, SCU Sociology.

Professor Cynthia Mertens of our School of Law and Professor Laura Nichols of our Sociology Department have been involved for the last years with a national effort to understand and better address the experience of undocumented students at Jesuit universities. Here they will report on the findings of their work -- with the assistance of Professor Kristin Heyer of our Religious Studies Department, who has written extensively on Catholic social ethics and immigration.
