After 10 years as director of social services at O'Connor Hospital
in San Jose and another five in the social work department, Alice
Doyle will return to the hospital as coordinator of the Ethics
Center's Pre-Professional Program for Undergraduates there.
Her role as assistant director of health care ethics also will include
working with care givers in the hospital to identify other ethics
needs at O'Connor. She has served on the hospital's Bioethics Committee
and the Steering Committee for the Applied Ethics Center, a joint
project of O'Connor and the Markkula Ethics Center.
Doyle began her career as a psychiatric social worker in New York,
where she received her master's in social work from Fordham University.
She earned her bachelor's degree at Nazareth College of Rochester.
Doyle has also served on the city of San Jose's Family Domestic
Violence Task Force and the Pathways Hospice, Hospice of the Valley,
and O'Connor Hospital Interdisciplinary Advisory Committee.
