Ethics Center Hires New Assistant Director for Administration
We are delighted to be able to attract Wendy Guthrie to the Markkula Center, said Executive Director Kirk O. Hanson. She has significant administrative background and a demonstrated commitment to organizational and sports ethics. Throughout her career, she has helped the institutions she served to raise and address critical ethics questions. Guthrie has had a career in managing college athletics. She served as Athletic Director of Seattle University from 2004-2006 and previously as Associate Athletic Director for the University of San Diego and Assistant Athletic Director at St. Francis College in Pennsylvania. She worked in various capacities supporting the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. She was also director of a residential education program at San Diego and assistant director of admissions at Whittier College. She helped establish and currently serves as Commissioner of the Pacific Coast Softball Conference.

Clara, CA - Veteran sports and university administrator
Wendy J. Guthrie of Seattle, Washington, has been selected as
the Assistant Director for Administration of the Markkula Center
for Applied Ethics at Santa Clara University. The position is
new and Guthrie will be responsible for all administrative activities
of the center, including events, budget and finance, and operations.
