Verite Executive Director Visits CenterListen to a conversation between Dan Viederman and Center Executive Director Kirk O. Hanson Dan Viederman, executive director of Verite, a non-profit organization dedicated to safe, fair, and legal working conditions worldwide, visited the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics May 16 to discuss his groups work. Verite is an independent, socially responsible auditing, training, capability building and research organization established in 1995. Since becoming executive director in 2004, Viederman has led the expansion of global capacity and the establishment of formal partnerships with NGOs and regional offices around the world. This structure recognizes that sustainable change requires strong local institutions, and leverages Verité's global strength and corporate relationships to support its in-country partners. Under Viedermans leadership Verité has become a recognized source for thoughtful commentary on the impacts of globalization on workers around the world.
