Copyright

State your concern for or interest in copyright as it applies to the materials included in your site. You may wish to add a simple copyright symbol (©) and date to the footer of each page to advise users. If you wish to include the work of other Web authors, obtain permission directly from the author or find the permission statement within their site. Include a credit line containing a link to the site where the image or text was obtained.

Fair Use

Current copyright law permits copyrighted material to be copied or shared without compensation under certain circumstances, such as: copying for personal use, or copying to promote the creation and distribution of new, noninfringing works. This is referred to as the "fair use" doctrine. The DFC advocates amending the copyright law to make clear that the fair use doctrine continues to apply with full force in the digital network environment.
