Record Number of Attendees for ISS Workshops
ISS hosted 4 workshops during the first few weeks of the Spring 2014 term with a record number of attendees.
ISS hosted an H4 to F1 Immigration Workshop specifically for students either considering transitioning to the F-1 student status or students who have already applied for the change of status. Over 70 students registered for the workshop, which addressed the specific immigration issues associated with a change of status (COS), including the best time to apply for COS, F-1 requirements, eligibility for Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and Optional Practical Training (OPT), and travel concerns.
ISS presented three Employment Workshops for F-1 students interested in doing an internship while in school or working in the U.S. after graduation. Over 110 students attended the workshops to learn more about the complex regulations surrounding Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and Optional Practical Training (OPT).
