After conferring widely with administrators on campus to select a date which will minimally impact university operations, the project steering committee has selected December 17 as the date for converting Santa Clara’s communication and collaboration tools to Google Apps for Education (GAE).
There will be two test groups that will move to GAE before most of campus. The first will be composed mainly of staff from technology support organizations, about 50 in all, who are tentatively scheduled to begin using GAE on October 12. The second will consist of a representative set of campus members who volunteer to be early adopters of these technologies during an extended test period. We expect to include 200 – 250 people, with a tentative migration date of November 8. Watch this space and your email for information on how to volunteer to be part of that group.
