Charge

1. The Benefits Committee will be a free-standing committee, reporting to Administration and Finance Vice-President Robert Warren. Its mandate will be to meet with representatives of and advise Human Resources and facilitate communication between Human Resources and the SCU community concerning benefit issues.

2. The University Coordinating Committee will appoint 4 members: 2 from staff and 2 from faculty. We will strive for gender balance but not for specific representation of academic units. Members who are faculty must be tenured, tenure-track, or senior lecturers. Terms will be for 3 years, with a staggering of initial appointments. The UCC may enlarge the committee if warranted.

3. The criteria we will use in selection are: willingness to study the issues in order to reach informed conclusions; openness to the collaboration necessary to reach balanced solutions; the ability to consider a wide range of, at times competing, interests fairly. The ability to communicate with the SCU community about the committee's work.
