Housing Cancellation Policy

Students can request to have their housing contract canceled if they are withdrawing from the University, studying abroad, or graduating early.  If you meet one of these reasons and would like to request to cancel your housing contract, please fill out and submit a Housing Contract Release Request online through the Housing Portal that is accessible via eCampus. Once your on-line request form is received, it will be processed and you will receive an email with next steps.  If you have any questions regarding your specific situation, please contact housing@scu.edu.


2014 - 2015 Housing Contract Cancellation Policies

Contract Cancellation Not Due to Student Withdrawing from the University Prior to the Beginning of the Term of the University Housing Contract

 For Fall 2014 Quarter Cancellations: If a cancellation notice is received by May 1, for the Fall 2014 Quarter, the deposit is refundable. 

 A cancellation notice received May 2 - June 30 will result in the forfeiture of the deposit plus $300 of the Fall Quarter's contract value charged to the student's Bursar Account.

 A cancellation notice received July 1 - July 31 will result in the forfeiture of the deposit plus $500 of the Fall Quarter’s contract value charged to the student’s Bursar Account.

 A cancellation notice received August 1 - Welcome Weekend Opening (Saturday, September 20, 2014) will result in the forfeiture of the deposit plus $700 of the Fall Quarter's contract value charged to the student's Bursar Account.


Contract Cancellation Due to Student No Longer Attending or Withdrawing from the University Prior to the Beginning of the Term of the University Housing Contract

 For Fall 2014 Quarter Cancellations: If a cancellation notice is received by May 1, for the Fall 2014 Quarter, the deposit is refundable.

 If notice of cancellation is received May 2 - May 31, the student will forfeit $50 of the deposit.

 If notice of cancellation is received June 1 - June 30, the student will forfeit $100 of the deposit

 If notice of cancellation is received July 1 - July 31, the student will forfeit $150 of deposit. 

 If notice of cancellation is received on or after August 1, the student will forfeit the entire $250 deposit.
