The housing application for current Freshmen students will open via eCampus at 3:30PM on Tuesday, March 5th. The application will close on Monday, April 1.
Prior to beginning and submitting the Housing application, we highly encourage the current Freshmen to review the information available here: Housing Application Process for Current Freshmen.
We also wish to let parents know the following:
1) When students apply for Housing for the 2013-2014 academic year, they will need to submit a $250 dollar deposit as well as sign the University Housing Contract (this is the first step of the application process). Keep in mind that students can submit the signed University Housing Contract as early as March 5th but do have until April 1st to complete the application.
2) The time of submission of the University Housing Contract is used as a time-stamp for determining housing preference priorities.
3) Housing Preference Priorities are determined by the following:
PRIORITY 1 - Residents will have first priority to return to their current Residential Learning Community (RLC) for their sophomore year if they select it as their first preference within their Housing Application.
PRIORITY 2 - Residents who preference a RLC that is not their current RLC will have second priority for housing placement. RLC placements for residents who find themselves within this Priority 2 scenario will be based on the time-stamp of the Housing application in conjunction with space availability within buildings. If space is unavailable within the first RLC preference the resident will subsequently be placed in another of their preferred RLC selections. Again, keep in mind placements within Priority 2 are based on the time-stamp and space availability.
The Housing Office is committed to making every possible effort to ensure residents are placed in the RLC and housing accommodations that meet their desired preferences. However, please do understand RLC placements are based on housing availability and that all of our communities and corresponding accommodations provide an enriching living and learning environment for students.
We encourage all residents to complete their Housing applications as soon as possible prior to April 1. During the second week of May rising Sophomores will be notified of which communities they have been assigned to for Fall 2013. From mid-May through the end of the month, on-line room selection will occur.
