The Class of 2018 will be arriving on campus on Saturday, September 20, 2014, and we are looking for returning SCU students to assist with new student move-in. In addition, some RLC's utilize volunteers in other activities such as decorating the lobbies and halls prior to residents arriving. It is important to note the following:

We will only be able to accept 200 Welcome Weekend Volunteers! Applications are accepted beginning on Thursday, May 1, 2014, and will be accepted until all positions are filled and/or Friday, August 1, 2014 at the following link: Welcome Weekend Volunteer Application

All student who come back for early arrival to volunteer for new student move-in at the assigned times and location on Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 7:00AM until 2:00PM (may be released earlier depending on need). Volunteers arrive Thursday for the daVinci and Loyola RLCs, and Friday for the remaining RLCs. All early arrival students agree to participate fully in their RLC preparations on the designated days per specific RLC instructions.

Students who are accepted to participate as Welcome Weekend Volunteers, who move in early to the residence hall, and not follow through on their Welcome Weekend commitment by working their scheduled shifts and completing all assigned responsibilities, will be charged a $250 per night early arrival fine, in addition to facing possible judicial action for failing to comply with specific early arrival guidelines.

Early arrival privileges can be revoked at ANY time should you violate University and/or Housing & Residence Life policy and/or fail to participate in ALL the Welcome Weekend activities, as assigned.

All Welcome Weekend Volunteers must be present at the training session on Friday, September 19, 2014, from 5:30PM - 6:30PM (location to be determined). Important scheduling and logistical information will be shared at this training session, and it is MANDATORY.

Any Welcome Weekend Volunteers who are accepted, and do not inform the Office of Residence Life of your cancellation by Monday, September 1, 2014 at 5:00PM at residencelife@scu.edu are subject to a $50 administrative fine.

Notifications will be sent on a rolling basis with first notifications on Monday, June 2, 2014.
