HMO
An HMO is a group of providers associated with or contracted by a medical insurance administrator. These providers include physicians, hospitals, pharmacies and laboratories. All non-emergency treatment must be received by one of these providers.
PPO
A Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan offers members the flexibility of seeking care with an out-of-network provider if so desired, even though it is more out-of-pocket expense for the patient. PPO networks also have prescription services which provide prescription drugs at a reduced cost.
