Message from the AVP
Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013
I recently had a conversation with a good friend of mine regarding the trials and tribulations of the end of the year. Her comment was "The end of the year is always a good time to finish something, end something or start something. How about we do all three?". Immediately I thought, "Who has time to do more?" However, I reflected upon her words and realized December is a month of both endings and new beginnings.
Throughout the year, HR and our campus partners work on making HR processes more clear, efficient and responsive. By the time the end of the year rolls around (which seems to speed up with each passing year!) several projects are underway and sometimes it can feel overwhelming . However, when I put the tasks into the three categories, as my friend suggested, I actually felt accomplished! HR has plenty of projects we are finishing, ending, and starting. Some examples include finishing up Open Enrollment over the next few weeks so that you can successfully have your benefits coverage by 2014. We are ending our work with the on-line recruitment process with the hopes of rolling it out in January. Finally, HR is excited to roll out a new electronic I-9 process in 2014. We will reach out to our campus I-9 representatves regarding upcoming training.
HR will continue to finish, end and start projects and programs to better serve you and your needs.
From all of us in HR we wish you a very blessed holiday season!
