Purpose:

The Department of Psychology at Santa Clara University, a Jesuit Catholic institution, is receiving applications to teach two courses during winter quarter 2010. One course is Statistics, an introductory statistics course for psychology majors. The other course is Research Methods.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in any field of Psychology
Evidence of successful teaching experience at the college or university level

Rank and Salary

Lecturer, Quarterly Part Time; $5,500 per class.

Starting Date

January 4, 2010

Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Teaching one section of Statistics and one section of Research Methods.
  2. Fulfilling all responsibilities associated with the assigned courses, including:
    1. conducting all assigned class meetings and individual conferences with students,
    2. assigning and evaluating student work including exams and written assignments,
    3. holding weekly office hours on campus, and
    4. submitting student grades to the Registrar by the designated deadline
    5. administering numerical and narrative course evaluations to each class as assigned by the chair.
