  • Department description In the Center for Student Leadership we host Welcome Weekend and Welcome Weeks which is the first three weeks of fall quarter. We program with various organizations and departments to ensure students get acquainted and comfortable with their new living environment.
    Qualifications 1. This position will begin week seven of spring quarter and conclude the third week in October. 2. Committee members will meet as a whole team once a week in June, and weekly meetings in September. (schedule below) 3. Members are expected to work five hours per week in June and all of September. Schedules are flexible and will be discussed with supervisor. 4. Members are expected to attend 75% of the welcome week events; details to be discussed with supervisor. 5. Members are paid an hourly rate of $10.
    Duties and responsibilities 1. Collaborate with Student Life staff and faculty to find dates and times for programs that work best with their schedule. 2. Coordinate programs around the move in schedule and RLCs. 3. Meet with the CSL Assistant Director to brainstorm, research and plan events geared toward the first year experience. 4. In collaboration with the CSL Assistant Director, facilitate monthly planning meetings with campus colleagues. 5. Construct a schedule of events involving many Student Life offices and student organizations. 6. Create marketing strategies to get the word out about programs during WW. 7. Use Survey Monkey to assess the experience of first year students during WW.
