  • Department description The University Budget Office (UBO) develops, implements, and maintains a comprehensive and integrated budgeting process. Working closely with all levels at the University, the UBO also assists in the management of University financial resources. As part of the University Finance Office management team, we ensure that accounting and control processes provide the information required to support financial management and planning activities. UBO is looking for an undergraduate student (Freshman/Sophomore) who can commit to work and average of 10 hours per week during school year, and summer. Hours may increase up to 20 hours a week during peak deadline periods in the fall and summer.
    Qualifications : 1. Currently enrolled SCU student having 3.0 GPA or better and available for an average of 10 hours a week during the school year and summer. 2. Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 3. Excellent with details and follow-up. Ability to multi-task a plus. 4. Outstanding oral and written communication skills. 5. Self-starter. Innovative thinker. Able to perform well with minimal supervision. 6. Flexible and ability to work through changes. 7. Previous experience with campus technology desired, but not necessary. Personal: 1. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environment. 2. Ability to work well with others. 3. Consistent and punctual attendance. 4. Great sense of humor is a must.
    Duties and responsibilities : 1. Financial data entry/reporting/analysis - work extensively with various computer programs: Peoplesoft Financials, Microsoft Excel, XLerant BudgetPak, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat. 2. Assist Budget Director and Senior Budget Analysts with ad hoc projects as necessary related to the university-wide annual macro-budget and micro-budget processes. 3. Collaborate with UBO team to suggest and implement ideas for UBO website improvement. 4. Other administrative duties as assigned.
