  • Department description Primary Purpose of Position: To assist SCU Social Media/Communications in increasing the visibility of Santa Clara University on social media platforms. Essential Duties: ? Content Creation: Creating visuals and copy for publication on University social media channels ? Analytics: Track, archive, and assess social media posts, conversations and articles ? Event Coverage: Act as a journalist/photographer covering key SCU events ? Research: Gather information and distill it into social media updates for publication
    Qualifications Qualifications Academic - Currently enrolled undergraduate student in communications and/or marketing at Santa Clara University. Current sophomore, junior preferred. Personal - Ability to work with diverse faculty, staff, and students - Ability to work under deadlines - Ability to work effectively in a stimulating and flexible work environment - Excellent attendance, follow through, and work habits
    Duties and responsibilities Specific Skills: - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Strong skills in graphic design creating visuals and familiarity with graphic design software (e.g. InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) - Strong knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of social media; experience using social media for business a plus - Sharp database skills, including Google docs and Excel - Accurate computer typing skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word - Ability to write clear, grammatically correct copy for publication - Ability to conduct research on the Web and find stories in everyday life - Familiarity and practice with photography and videography on mobile devices - Great project management and organizational skills
