| How do I reserve a room on campus? |
Go to or call the Event Planning Office located in Benson #103. The office can be reached at (408) 554-6911.
| How early should I reserve a room? |
One year out is ideal.
| What are the hours of the Benson Center? |
The normal hours during the academic year are as follows:
Monday 7:00 A.M. - 1:00 A.M.
Tuesday 7:00 A.M. - 1:00 A.M.
Wednesday 7:00 A.M. - 2:00 A.M.
Thursday 7:00 A.M. - 1:00 A.M.
Friday 7:00 A.M. - 2:00 A.M.
Saturday 8:00 A.M. - 2:00 A.M.
Sunday 8:00 A.M. - 1:00 A.M.
There are special hours for summer and academic holidays.
| What rooms can I reserve through your office? |
The Event Planning Office is responsible for reserving most of the rooms in Benson, including two conference rooms, five parlors, the Williman Room, and the Brass Rail, in addition to several classrooms in Bannan, Arts & Sciences, Alumni Science, Daly Science, Kenna, and O’Connor. We also reserve most outdoor areas, such as the Mayer/O’Connor Lawn, St. Ignatius Lawn, the Santa Clara Mall, the Alameda Mall, and most of the Mission Gardens
| What about the setup of the room? Media? Food? |
After reserving a room, the Event Planning Office will provide different setup options to accommodate your event. Any audiovisual equipment that we cannot fulfill must be ordered through Media Services at (408) 554-4520. Food and beverage must be ordered through Bon Appetit at (408) 554-4870.
| Can I reserve the mission gardens? |
The Event Planning Office is responsible for Mission Gardens ABCDFG.
| Can I reserve online? |
In the near future, customers may look at a website online to check the availability of venues on campus and send emails to the Event Planning Office to reserve rooms.
| What is the charge to reserve a room? |
If you are an on campus organization or department, there is no charge. For an off-campus organization, the charges vary on the venue. There is a price list in the Event Planning Office. Many of these answers will change once our new reservation system is up. The new system will allow you to look for space and book rooms on-line.
