What is PeopleSoft?



PeopleSoft is an Enterprise Software System used by Santa Clara University to manage daily administration. The University owns three PeopleSoft databases:

Learning Solutions (Student and Human Resources)

  • PeopleSoft Learning Solutions users can track student enrollment, course rosters, course catalog, transcripts and biographical information. 
  • HR Self-Service allows all SCU Employees to maintain employee records including addresses and online paycheck advices

PeopleSoft Budgeting

  • PeopleSoft Budgeting users can prepare and submit annual budget projections due each year at the end of May.

PeopleSoft Financials

  • PeopleSoft Financials users can enter Quick Vouchers (check requests) purchase requisitions, track payments, and inquire about vendor information.
  • Users can also find current budget status and remaining funds available.
How do I get access to PeopleSoft?



You will need a User ID and Password for each PeopleSoft database.

Learning Solutions (Student and Human Resources)

  • Student Data
    • Contact Bill Fowler (x7020) or bfowler@scu.edu to request a User ID and password.
  • Personal Employment Data
    • All employees are automatically granted access to HR Self Service allowing them to update address information and view paycheck advices. A UserID will be emailed to you after you receive your Novell login information. Passwords are mailed (via snail-mail).

PeopleSoft Budgeting

  • Contact the University Finance Office to request a User ID and password.

PeopleSoft Financials

  • To request a User ID and Password, visit our website at: www.scu.edu/finance/peoplesoft/index.cfm. Review the PeopleSoft Financials Security Policy and Fill out a User Agreement Form. Submit forms to Ruben Sumoba (x1881).
How do I get Training on PeopleSoft?



PeopleSoft Learning Solutions training

  • For training on the PeopleSoft Student system, contact Bill Fowler (x7020) or Bfowler@scu.edu

PeopleSoft Budgeting training

  • Training classes are posted on the University Finance Office website (www.scu.edu/finance/training/index.cfm) and are typically offered in late April – Early May. Please review the list of class offerings and contact the University Finance Office to register.

PeopleSoft Financials training

Training on PeopleSoft Financials is separated into functional Areas. You can receive training on any or all of the following:

Basic Financials Navigation & Financial Reporting

Training classes are posted on the University Finance Office website (www.scu.edu/finance/training/index.cfm). Please review the list of class offerings and contactthe University Finance Office to register.

The PeopleSoft Basic Financials class is a pre-requisite for all other training classes in financials, including Financial Reports, Quick Vouchers, and Purchase Requisitions.

Purchase Requisitions (online ordering)

For training on how to enter online purchase requisitions, contact Kim Tavares (x4364) or ktavares@scu.edu.

Quick Vouchers (online payment requests)

For training on how to enter Quick Vouchers, contact Khanh Chau (x5497) or kchau@scu.edu
