Jake Schneider has served as the Director of the Immersions Program with the ICJE since June of 2013. His primary responsibilities include the coordination of immersion opportunities, as well as the education, formation and accompaniment of student immersion groups as they explore questions of social justice, simplicity, deepening spirituality, and vocation. Jake brings a passion for holistic education and the integration of experiential learning with academic life.
He received his B.A. from the University of San Diego in Physics and Theological and Religious studies and went on to complete a Masters of Theological Studies (M.T.S.) at Boston College. Prior to joining the Ignatian Center team, Jake was serving as a Jesuit Volunteer in Santiago, Chile where he taught in a Catholic grade school and worked with an outreach program for at-risk youth.
